Thanks for this, at least it clears up the issue, I was driving myself crazy wondering what I was doing wrong! 
Is there a particular plugin you would suggest using?
I’d need to be able to display multiple markers, update a marker location using Geolocation, display modals when you click markers, & give directions/satnav from one marker to another.
