Ion-select --padding-start not working

I’m using Ionic 7.8. And your suggestion of adding !important worked. Great that it works, but it seems very unsatisfactory. It’s in the docs as a valid custom css property. What really gets me is that in the exact element --padding-end worked no problem… I’ve hunted around and can’t find any global settings which would be interfering with this. However, that said, my understanding is that component level css should win over global in any case.
