How to have two versions of app on android phone when debugging

Want to have both a demo version (uses static data) and a real-time version of the same app on android phone when debugging.

Have tried changing the WIDGET ID in the config.xml file. When I recompile and then install the app; the android phone sees both app versions as the same app. So the two app versions must have the same ID somewhere in an XML file..

What ID has to changed so that two versions of an app can be installed on an android phone when debugging?
